NYCTALOPE (See at night) / women walking in public space at night/ visual installation and movement / Night / Fears/ Women / Trajectories / Tensions.

The Polymorphe voice :

We were six, we will be thirty.

Women, tall women with short legs, small women with curved bodies, old and young.

Under the cover of the night, they stand here.

They will knit, weave and move,

We are in a dark night,

We were quiet, we will be loud.

NYCTALOPE is an invitation to a large group of women to participate in a visual installation in movement. NYCTALOPE is about our relationship to public space at night. Our avoidance strategies, our bypasses, our trajectories. At night our apprehension is different. Between dream and nightmare, NYCTALOPE appears in particular typological places, like pedestrian crossing, bus stop, in the light under a lamppost, in a narrow street, along a wall edge. These places are transformed, women are invited to reclaim them, to regenerate them.

Model / A sensitive experience

In addition to this, you need to know more about it.

"Her NYCTALOPE project deals with the place of women in public space, at night. In an underground car park, the public discovers a moving installation; sounds, breaths and lights enliven the scene, in an anxiety-provoking climate evoking an uneasy reality . The way of positioning herself, of moving, the senses on the lookout… In play, six performers each embody a singular aspect of femininity. To the virtuosity of the dancer, Maëva Longvert prefers a movement of occupation, nourished by the presence of Each one. An approach that she refines with Christophe Haleb and Jordi Gali, in the quest for a fluidity of movement of a body in turn being acted or acting. Before the creation, the artist runs workshops of weaving with its performers, during which the word circulates. The textile material is constructed at the same time as the subject, but the testimonies are not reused in extenso: they infuse during the creation process, loading the scenography with invisible motions. When we distress matter, we also distress our fears… Ultimately, Maëva Longvert imagines times for discussions on the theme, upstream or downstream of the representations. "
